Welcome to Functional Quantum Materials Laboratory (FQML) at UTEP Chemistry
FQML is a highly interdisciplinary group driven by imagination, innovation, and knowledge (not necessarily in the same order) and works on revolutionary science for the betterment of the society.
Our research aims to bridge and interface chemistry, materials physics, and biological sciences to develop uniquely designed quantum structures and devices. We investigate a wide range of quantum materials and their fundamental properties. The overarching goal is to devise new synthetic pathways for quantum structures, engineer their properties, and leverage them for applications in electronics, energy harvesting, analytics, environmental remediation, and biomedicine.
